If you’re considering moving your child to a new school, it might feel a bit daunting. For many parents, the thought of disrupting a routine or friendship group can often be a reason to stay put. Even if they are not completely convinced it’s the right school for their child.
We’ve used our years of experience, plus what new parents have told us, to create a Welcome Package for those who join us in-year.
What to expect
Taster days – join us in-year and your child will spend time with their new classmates, getting used to the school and meeting teachers. And if they need more than a day? That’s fine. We can tailor the visits to you.
Home visits – for those joining us further down the school, one of our team can visit you in your home, helping your child get used to us and making the transition a little easier.
Making friends – your child will be paired up with a pupil of a similar age and interests, helping create a friendship group and ease them into life at our school.
Uniform – if you’re joining us in the middle of the academic year, you may be concerned about the cost of a new uniform – children can grow considerably during the summer break! Our pre-owned uniform shop (Ranby only) stocks a range of high-quality, second-hand clothing and equipment.
Parental support – it’s not just your child making a new group of friends, that’s why new parents are put in touch with our friendly and welcoming Parents' Association. A great way of making friends and getting some sound advice.
