New Fitness Suite Now Open
Following an extensive fundraising campaign, we are delighted to say that our new gym space is now open and in full use!
Fundraising efforts began in January 2019, with the Family Fitness Fundraiser, an initiative designed to get the whole family active throughout the month. Every person who donated £25 throughout January received a plaque that will be situated on the wall in the new gym – an opportunity for many of our families to leave a lasting legacy here at the College. There were a number of different activities going on throughout the month and it was great to see so many of you involved.
Our next phase of fundraising in June saw the Summer Spectacular, an event which I hope you’ll agree, was a wonderful celebration of our school. Following on from Prize-giving morning, East Field came alive in the afternoon, with each house organising and running their own stall. The event surpassed all expectations and it was a total joy to see so many happy faces. The day really epitomised what we here at Worksop are about – community.
What you've helped us achieve
We have traded in some of our older pieces of equipment for the latest models, and the remainder of the money has been spent on purchasing a number of strength and conditioning pieces, along with two new Wattbikes.
We are incredibly grateful to the team at Gym Gear; through their expertise and guidance they have designed a space that will transform the way students and staff are able to exercise. Their planning ensured that we had a space that would allow us to facilitate the appropriate equipment, and flooring that would be able to withstand the demands placed up on it.
In addition to this, the WCPA have very kindly offered to support us further by donating the profits raised from the Christmas Ball in December, which has been earmarked for a number of key pieces of machinery.
There’s still time to help – as little or as much as you’re able

In order to ensure our students have access to the best and most up-to-date equipment, there are still a number of pieces of equipment that are on our ‘wish list’ – if you would like to put your family’s name to any of these pieces then please do get in touch, as every little really does help.

Opening the Fitness Suite
We were delighted to welcome two OWs back to the college, current GB Hockey Captain Adam Dixon, along with teammate Tom Sorsby, to open the newly refurbished Fitness Suite.
The new £20,000 space was completed after twelve months of fundraising, supported by parents and the wider alumni network. The money raised has enabled significant alterations to the infrastructure of the building, which included expanding, redecorating and refitting the current space, along with a new floor and lighting.
The improvements to the centre have modernised the facilities and gym users will benefit from a combination of the latest strength and conditioning equipment, along with the addition of three new Wattbikes.
