Supporting our #WorksopRanbyFamily

As many of our older alumni community face the real effects of self-isolating alone, it is now more than ever that we need to pull together to offer them support. I would like to virtually connect as many Old Ranbians and Old Worksopians as possible, to provide comfort and communication, in what can be an incredibly challenging time.

What are we suggesting?
We would like to connect our younger students with our elderly alumni community. Families will be assigned an elderly OR or OW to communicate with. This could be an email, a written letter or a cheery picture to brighten their day. If using email, the message should be sent via the parents own email account. Communication is a key factor in promoting positive mental health and overall well-being and acts of kindness such as this are very powerful.

How will this work?
If you would be happy for your child to take part, please get in touch with me directly with your details and I will then share the contact information of a member of our alumni community for you to reach out to.

If you are feeling the effects of self-isolation yourself and would like to receive an email, snail mail or a telephone call and would be happy for me to share your details, please get in touch.

Should you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Thank you for your support.

Best wishes,
Lucy
