Sixth Form Lecture Series

Join us for the Spring Term Sixth Form Lecture Series, as we welcomed a host of varied lectures from some of the most experienced professionals in the country.

We hope you find the carefully curated programme both interesting and inspiring.

All lectures will take place in the Chemistry Lecture Theatre and will be followed by food in the Sixth Form Centre.

Kate Turner, Old Worksopian and Producer

Kate Turner visits to talk about her experiences setting up The Road Productions and directing various productions, some starring BAFTA award-winning actors, including Jason Watkins, Alex Macqueen, Vicki Pepperdine and Tim Key. She offers and insight into a dynamic and exciting industry.

Since setting up The Road Productions in 2014, Kate has executive produced the feature film project, Neighborhood Food Drive, which won the Spirit of Slamdance Award at SLAMDANCE in January 2017. Most recently, she lead produced the psychological thriller feature film Summer in the Shade with New York based director Alice Millar, which is currently in post production.

Her latest short film, The Overcoat, starring BAFTA award winning Jason Watkins, Alex Macqueen, Vicki Pepperdine and Tim Key is currently playing in festivals worldwide including Galway, Palm Springs, Belfast, Dinard and Aesthetica and has recently secured distribution via Shorts International.

Kate is a recipient of the John Brabourne Award granted to individuals who are considered talented and driven but have faced hurdles in their career and was was recently a participant on the 2017 Edinburgh International Film Festival Talent Lab.
