I recall the great friends I made, superb rugby coaching from Alan Old, and wonderful cricket.

The athletics day, the Dorm Run, Saturday morning lessons, chapel, getting the cane off Chris Murphy, the huge dormitory, and the small desk areas where we used to do homework all stand out in my memory.

I remember the CCF (Naval – the nearest we ever got to sea was a visit to the Findus Fish Finger factory in Grimsby), the cloisters, and the Sixth Form studies that seemed a world away from our common room. The food was mixed, but the Great Hall was unforgettable.
