Our Pupils

So what's it really like to be a pupil at Worksop College and Ranby House? Hear from our pupils below to find out what they think of our school.

And what about our former pupils? Visit our Alumni pages to find out more about the achievements of our Old Worksopians.

Mila, Nursery

Mila is one of our youngest pupils and is already thriving in the nurturing environment of our Nursery. Her favourite part of the day is heading into the woodland - feeding the ducks, toasting marshmallows and sharing hot chocolate with her friends. Through play, exploration and learning, Mila is building confidence, independence and curiosity from an early age, supported by a caring team who understand how young children learn best.

Vidushi, Year 3

Vidushi enjoys the independence that comes with moving around the school for her lessons and loves that each subject has its own space. She particularly enjoys visiting the art studio for creative lessons, the science laboratory to explore and experiment, and the Performing Arts Centre for music and drama. Learning in specialist spaces helps bring her lessons to life, building her confidence and making every school day feel varied, exciting and purposeful.

Peter, Year 6

Peter enjoys all aspects of school life, but his real passion is cricket. He benefits from the specialist facilities and high-quality coaching at Ranby House, which support his development both in lessons and through his co-curricular commitments. This approach works alongside Peter’s ambitions to play cricket at a high level, and he is proud to be on track for the future, having secured a cricket scholarship as he prepares to move on to senior school.

Jonathan, Year 7

Jonathan has thrown himself into life at senior school, supported by the care and guidance of our Junior Houseparents. With this support, he has settled in confidently and explored the range of opportunities, particularly within the arts. He loves being part of the choir, enjoys his flute lessons, and is even performing in this year’s school production. These experiences have helped Jonathan build confidence, friendships and a sense of belonging in his first year at Worksop College.

Natasha, Year 11

Natasha has been a full-time boarder since joining Worksop College in Year 7 and has fully embraced everything boarding life has to offer. She loves the variety of weekend trips around the country, relaxing in House with her friends, and the chance to head into town on weeknights. For Natasha, boarding is about friendship, independence and feeling at home - a place where there is always something to look forward to.

Ben, Year 13

Ben plays hockey at a high level, both in and out of school. At Worksop College, his timetable and support are carefully tailored around his training and competition schedule, ensuring he can balance elite sport with strong academic progress. Ben dedicated strength and conditioning, and personalised academic support, allowing him to perform at his best in every area of school life. This approach has helped Ben stay on track, and he has recently been selected to represent England Under 18s.
