Our school is equipped with a dedicated SEN team, along with a supportive school community. Teaching at Worksop College is designed to ensure the best possible outcome for our students, whatever their circumstance.
We are proud to be a broad-ability school, meaning every child has their own set of skills and abilities. We know that what works well for one child, may not work for another, so we base our teaching around caring for the student as an individual.
We provide high-quality classroom teaching for all our pupils, but understand that some students may need that extra bit of support. Where necessary, this may consist of in-class support from Teaching Assistants and 1:1 lessons with qualified Special Education Needs staff.
Our students have every opportunity to thrive at Worksop College – should a student be struggling, our structure enables speedy interventions. We also take pride in our strong pastoral care and small classroom sizes.
We support all our students with SEN needs; whether it be ensuring the setting is correct for the individual, or teaching to accommodate their learning style. In some cases, there may be a greater need for support. At Worksop College, we have the infrastructure to help, whether it be in the classroom, or with additional 1:1 sessions.
Staff at Worksop College are passionate about focusing on our students as individuals, focusing firmly on progress and realising that every child has their own set of skills and abilities. We have a long standing reputation of dealing with individuals with different needs; constantly seeing great success, both academically and personally.
The principal aim of our school is to provide a stimulating, challenging and caring environment, allowing every child to develop to their full potential - educationally, physically and socially.
In essence - if we think we can support, we will.
