George (Year 11) and Outstanding Golfing Achievements.

Incredible achievements from one of our pupils, George C, year 11.

Over the past few weeks, George has been on an amazing golfing journey:

He kicked things off in France, winning the U18 Amateur Championship stroke play, and going on to reach the semi-finals.

Just days later, he travelled to Madrid to represent England vs Spain. In a very close match (11–13), George delivered a standout performance, earning 3 points for his team. The very next day after returning, he competed in the prestigious Peter McEvoy Trophy – a demanding 72-hole event over 2 days – and finished an incredible 2nd place, just one shot behind the leader! Thanks to this performance, George has earned an exemption into the Fairhaven Trophy, taking place 30th April – 3rd May.

And the achievements don’t stop there… George has also been invited by The R&A to Dublin for a practice session, as he is in contention for selection to represent GB & Ireland in the Jacques Léglise Trophy.

To be considered for this at just 15 years old is truly outstanding.

The Jacques Léglise Trophy is the under-18 equivalent of the St Andrews Trophy. It is played annually with the venue alternating between Great Britain and Ireland and the Continent of Europe. Many of today’s top professionals, like Luke Donald and Sergio Garcia, have contested the Trophy in the past.

We are incredibly proud of George and can’t wait to see what’s next on his journey!
