Ranby House test out their navigational skills at the Bassetlaw Orienteering competition

Once again, Ranby House hosted the Bassetlaw Primary Schools Orienteering competition yesterday.

On a glorious, sunny afternoon over two hundred and twenty primary school pupils competed around the grounds of the school.

The students were fortunate to be able to use the latest technology of SI-Cards. These cards are timing chips and are used to collect electronic punches from twenty checkpoints around the school.

The data is stored on the card and downloaded at the end of the event, giving a time and score to the competitors.

Mr Mark Pymm, Director of Sport said:

“Many thanks to Rob Parkinson and Michaela Swales for organising yet another successful event.”
