  • 10% increase on top grades for Worksop College GCSE pupils

    Celebrations continued today as GCSE students at Worksop College received their results.

    Despite changes to the GCSE grading system and reportedly more difficult exams, students took it in their stride, with just under a 10% increase on 2018 for those getting the very top grades of A*, A and 7-9, (equivalent to A* and A).

    Almost a week on from A-level Results Day and the Sixth Form Team is celebrating the news that, as well as a 100% pass rate and a 7% increase across the highest grades, 55% of the university destinations of Worksop College students are Russell Group universities.

  • A level results 2019: 100% pass rate and top grades up by 7%

    Big smiles and happy tears this morning as our A level students received their results. With 100% pass rate and some stunning individual results, our school has seen a 9% increase in A-C grades on last year and a 7% increase on pupils achieving A and A* grades.

    This news is even more impressive, given the fact that almost all A-levels have now been reformed, with the continuous testing of the previous regime removed and almost everything now riding on final exams.
