Old Worksopian, Katy Lamkin visited Worksop College on Monday 11 September to give a masterclass to our Upper Sixth Latinists.
Katy ran a tutorial on Catullus’ mini-epic, ‘Poem 64’, the tutorial not only focused on the complexity of his language, but traced the image of ‘the scorned woman’ throughout antiquity.
Head of Latin and Classics, Dr Samuel Koon said:
“It was quite a tour-de-force!”
The former School House student is currently studying Classics at Newnham College, Cambridge, after securing 3 A*’s in her A-levels at Workop College last year.
Katy finished her day by offering her expert advice in a question and answer session to our very large group of Sixth Form Oxbridge hopefuls.
