Second student selected for Swim England Talent Pathway. Year 7 student, Raymond, has become the second Worksop College Swim Squad student to qualify for the Swim England Talent Pathway.
Just days after Y10 student Max was chosen for the National Youth Development Sprint Camp, Ray received his call-up for the prestigious programme, which identifies, supports and enhances the development of athletes for the Olympic, Paralympic and Commonwealth Games of the future.
Pelham Housemaster and Head of Swimming Mr Franse said of the selection: “the fact these two swimmers have been chosen for the Swim England Talent Pathway is testament to their hard work, and the incredible support they receive from our Head Coach Giannis Valkoumas. The programme of training we have in place at the college guides our young athletes on the technical and tactical aspects of their strokes, as well as developing their fitness. There are exciting prospects ahead for these two boys, as well as several of our squad members and we’re looking forward to following their journey over the coming months.”
