It was a great start to the House Cooking Competition this week.
There was some strong team work, especially from the Gibbs girls, and the Shirley boys proved to be very organised.
Food and Nutrition teacher, Mrs Emma Scoular said:
“The houses bought into the brief and interpreted it well, the tray bakes were well cooked, though one was a little under and therefore a little 'stodgy'. A very big thank you to Mr Halsall for helping to judge the cakes.”
Following lots of discussion and eating by the judges the results were:
Results Heat 1
1st place: Gibbs House - Lemon drizzle tray bake - just pipped Shirley to the post due to the flavour of the sponge.
2nd place: Shirley House - Vanilla sponge with raspberries and chocolate drizzle - lots of thought given to the presentation of this dish.
3rd place: Mason House - Chocolate sponge with peanut M&M's - a chocolate lovers dream!
Well done to all Houses, is anyone else hungry?!
