Sally Cartwright - How Policewomen Are Making Communities Safer - Theatre
PC Sally Cartwright is a Schools and Intervention Officer for Nottinghamshire Police. She believes that achieving change in young people means we need to change the behaviour of professionals working directly with them. Everyone from the school teacher to the GP; from the police officer to the job advisor, needs the tools to be able to spot risk factors and ensure that support is put in place. Find out more about Sally's job role within her talk, where she will be covering cases in criminal damage, violence, cyber safety, and antisocial behaviour.

Billy-Bob Buttons - How Children's Literature Can Change the World - Chemistry Lecture Theatre

Billy Bob Buttons, the pen name of Edward Hugh Trayer, is a children, young adult and adult novelist. He is the author of sixteen books to date including: Felicity Brady and the Wizard's Bookshop, The Gullfoss Legends and I Think I Murdered Miss.

In 2011, Felicity Brady and the Wizard's Bookshop was longlisted for the International Rubery Book Award, and Tor Assassin Hunter was a runner up in the 2012 UK People's Book Prize. In 2014, I Think I Murdered Miss won the UK People's Book Prize. The award was presented to Billy Bob Buttons at a ceremony in London.

His books are so highly respected that a few have been made into animated films.


Alison Rashley - A Day in the Life of an Actor - Library

Alison is a freelance acting coach. She trained at ITV’s Television Workshop and worked as a professional actress on TV for ten years, working for the BBC, ITV and Channel 4. She then went on to teach full time at the Television Workshop, training young talent in acting for TV and screen, with many students going on to critical acclaim in the industry. She continues her association with the BAFTA award winning TV Workshop as an associate director.

In 2019 Alison was asked to work with the young leads on “Everybody’s Talking About Jamie.”  She worked on the feature from casting and rehearsal right through to supporting the kids in their performance on set.

Alison specialises in working with raw talent, young people who have been cast with little or no screen experience at all. She is passionate about helping young people adapt to screen acting and building their confidence on set, enabling them to deliver a strong performance.

Suzie Gildon - Europe's largest visitor attraction operator: Behind the Scenes - Theatre
Suzie is the Senior Account Manager at Merlin Entertainment, the world’s second-largest visitor attraction after Disney. Their brands include LEGOLAND, Alton Towers and Thorpe Park.

Suzie has navigated her way through Merlin Entertainment, by starting as a Business Development Executive at Alton Towers and working her way up to managership for the whole company.


Gerad Adams - A Journey from Ice Hockey to Mindset Coaching - CLT

Gerad grew up in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada and played and coached professional ice hockey for 17 years, turning semi pro when he was just 15 years old.

After leaving ice hockey, he went to work in finance and business coaching within Royal Mail. Gerad then turned to leadership and management consultancy, working for all the major employers in the UK including Amazon. 

He then started his own coaching business, where he works with athletes on their mental mind set. Currently, Gerad spends most his time recruiting current and former professional athletes.

Gerad learned so much from time in sport which has made him an expert on communications and human behaviour within a team environment.
