Worksop Music Concert Series

Run by the College for music-lovers across the region, Worksop Music is a non-profit venture which aims to provide significant cultural enrichment at an accessible cost.

Attracting artists from across the UK and beyond, this series also features home-grown talent from across the school’s pupils and staff. This year’s programme continues the strong spirit of education imbued with quality and diversity. There will be much to marvel at, from the infectious energy of Baroque super-group Red Priest, the spontaneity of pianist John Lenehan as he improvises a soundtrack to Laurel and Hardy, to the reimagining of well-known works by Jazz Trio, Acoustic Triangle .

Acoustic Triangle

Acoustic Triangle - Celebrating 20 Years

Malcolm Creese - double bass

Tim Garland - bass clarinet and saxophones

Gwilym Simcock - piano

The three members of Acoustic Triangle seek to blur the perceived boundaries between genres. Individually, their careers have taken them all over the globe with a diverse range of musicians including John Williams, James Galway, Chick Corea, George Shearing, Diana Ross, Cleo Laine and Sting. Together they have become one of the most original and respected British ensembles, having recorded four albums and performed in major concert venues and festivals all over the world - always without amplification. The Trio has appeared in numerous radio broadcasts and on-screen in an episode of the television series ‘Lewis’.
