Nottinghamshire ASA County Championships

Worksop College and Ranby House's swimming results continued to soar as our swimmers took to the Nottinghamshire County Championships.

Charlotte, Year 8, has been swimming with Worksop Dolphins for some time now. Her dedication to her training is clear in her competition results. Worksop Dolphins train at Worksop College swimming pool on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays, from 6.45am to 7.45am. In the Nottinghamshire County Championships, Charlotte secured second place in her 400 freestyle, taking home a silver medal to mark the achievement.

Raymond, Ranby House student, has been training alongside Charlotte as part of the Worksop Dolphins. Under the tutelage of Giannis, Head coach at Worksop Dolphins, the swimmers have been taking part in clinics, individual analysis and swimming camps. As a result of Raymond's hard work in training, he went home with a bronze medal in the 200 freestyle.

Another success from the Dolphins is Jake, Year 10, who not only left the competition with a bronze medal in 200 backstroke, but also with two silver medals. One was achieved in the 200 freestyle, while the other was in the 50 backstroke.

Mr Franse, Head of Swimming, told us, "Jake's swimming has come on leaps and bounds, especially since training with Giannis and the Worksop Dolphins. I'm looking forward to seeing his progression over the coming months."

The last Dolphin to take to the water was Euean, Year 9, who is captured here with his teammate Jake. Euan left the competition with a gold in 200 backstroke and a gold in 50 backstroke. His achievements didn't stop there, as he accepted a bronze medal for the 400 freestyle and another for the 50 fly. A very impressive set of results!

We were also incredibly proud to see Year 6 Isobelle achieve three bronze medals, in 50 back, 200 back and 100 breath-stroke. She went on the win silver in the 400 freestyle and a gold in the 50 fly. Her brother Owen, who is in Year 8 up at the college, was also successful in his swim, as he walked away with a bronze medal for his efforts in the 800 free.

A truly successful day for our Worksop College and Ranby House swimmers!
