Sunday 22nd September saw a Valedictory Evensong take place - marking the retirement of our longest-serving Chaplain, Paul Finlinson, after 20 years at Worksop College & Ranby House.
Traditionally, girls and boys have had to follow set sports, led by their gender. Children being ‘pushed’ down a sporting route can, as a result, be put off the particular sport for life. In the modern world, this ethos is changing and we believe that all children should have the opportunity to choose the sport they participate in for their coached Games lessons.
Last Friday saw the ‘installation’ of the schools’ new Chaplain, Father Matthew Askey. The service saw Matthew licensed by the Bishop of Sherwood, with Woodard’s Brendan Clover also presiding over the event. The term Installed means being ‘put into your seat’ or ‘stall’ as they are better known for Clergy men and women.
