A fair and inclusive society: our role

In light of the events all over the world, as we witness individuals and communities challenging racism and injustice, it is important that we state our own values, clearly and plainly.

Worksop College & Ranby House categorically stands against all forms of racism, injustice and inequality. As a community we are fully supportive of every single one of our members and particularly of our BAME pupils and staff at this time of such distress, challenge, and change.

We are all acutely aware of our responsibility as educators to avoid complacency and complicity. We need to challenge racism of any kind and to actively promote justice and equality for all.

As a leadership group we are looking at ways that we can continue to strive to raise levels of understanding and knowledge about the inequalities in our society. We will continue to do this through education, information, support and, above all, in looking for ways to make lasting and sustainable impact as we move forward in the coming days, weeks and, indeed, years.

We may not immediately get this perfectly right, but we have a responsibility to be part of a fairer society. We would ask that you allow us a little time to consider fully how lasting, sustainable impact might be achieved.

In the meantime, if you wish to offer suggestions or would like to discuss anything, please email head@wsnl.co.uk

With our thanks,

Dr John Price, on behalf of the Senior Leadership Team at Worksop College and Ranby House School.
