Sixth Former plays for NLD

On Sunday 5th December, Worksop College student, Ben, Year 13, played for NLD under 18s.

Playing for the NLD is a brilliant achievement for any young rugby player, giving them the opportunity to play representative rugby at CB level and beyond.  Players who impress the watching selectors will then have further chances to play at Midlands and even England.

The game was held at Warwick School, against Staffordshire. Ben played for the entirety of the game at 4 and was involved in every line out and scrum. NLD won every scrum, even if it was against the head! Unfortunately, after a very tense and close game, the win was given to the opposing team in the last minute by a break away try.

Mr Parkin, Head of Sports Performance, congratulated Ben for his efforts: 'It's an incredible opportunity for Ben to be a part of the NLD

Ben and his team will be returning to Warwick school on the 19th of December to play against Leicestershire. We wish them the best of luck.
