Our scholarships are typically rewarded to students who are specialists in a particular branch of study. Available from Year 7 onwards, our scholarships are designed to give students with outstanding abilities the opportunity to take advantage of the excellent education on offer at Worksop College.
Who can be awarded a Scholarship?
Is your child particularly gifted in a specific field of study? If they should excel in academics, art, music or sports, they have the opportunity to apply for a scholarship.
Customarily, we award Scholarships to candidates joining us in Year 7, Year 9 or Year 12, but on the occasion, should we receive an exceptional candidate, we award scholarships outside these traditional entry points.
Please contact the Admissions Team for more information.
What level should I expect to be at in order to get a scholarship?
As a broad ability school, we are committed to individual progress, taking candidate potential into consideration, as well as current skill level.
How much is a Scholarship worth?
How do you apply for a Scholarship?
To begin, please request an application form, please get in touch with the Admissions Team by emailing email@example.com or call 01909 537100.
Should you be successful in your application, you will be invited for an assessment day, which usually takes place in January. Those who are successful at the assessment day will be informed in the following February. The overall amount of scholarship that may be offered does not tend to surpass an overall 25%.
I am already a pupil at the school (Ranby House/Worksop College), is the process different for me?
The process is exactly the same, but you should simply seek a recommendation from the appropriate teacher, rather than Dr Price, as they will be aware of your current level of skill, making the process even simpler.
Please note that the recommendation forms part of the decision-making process, but should not be considered as a guarantee of a scholarship.
There are many factors involved; including number and quality of applications, plus total number of scholarships available.
The final decision is made by Dr Price, who will consider all aspects of the application before selecting the successful candidates.
